It worked well for one source and was OK once I had decided on the best setting, but the new unit is so much easier to use that it is, for me, worth the extra.īeing able to mix and match analogue and digital out is worth having and provides a bit of future proofing for when I change my system not that I ever going to do that of course! Have you tried Volumio with Spotify at all? It would be good if Amazon HD were supported longer term but from what I can tell there isn't Volumio support for this at present. Like you it's sub integration that is a key consideration for me, for which there are very few alternatives.

Thanks Camvertonyou have the model I'm considering. Unless I stop using a sub and Dirac I think it is going too a fairly permanent fixture. Satisfied with my purchase, and for what it does not too worried about the price. How does it sound? Depends on what crossover and processing are employed! So, decent quality, versatile, sounds fine, does what it says on the tin and easy to use. The Volumio works OK with Tidal but I had a hell of a job connecting to Qobuz not too keen on the user interface on a tablet though, but it works.

The display is very useful as it displays whether or not the Dirac filter is engaged, which input and which preset as well as volume very handy when setting up and choosing which preset to use, and in use easy to see what is going on without having to fire up a computer. I have the larger SHD unit which also has analogue connections. I suspect the answer is no but does anyone here have any experience with one? No - somewhat put off by the steep price hike vs the 2X4HD, so I would be very happy for someone to try it for me and report back! Yeah, it's a serious price bump, or I'd have got one ages ago.
